These villages are a feature of the Languedoc. The Hérault has 25 and Gard 4.
The word and concept of circulade were proposed in 1992 by an architect of Polish origin. Once these villages were simply called “round”.

Discovered in 1811, the cave, carved by a river has been electrified and fitted in 1935. However, it was modernized in 1973 to its current appearance.

The eighth and final room contains a unique mineral formation, a chandelier of aragonite to 4 meters high and 10 meters in circumference, a real treasure.

Dating back to 1756 and registered as an historic monument in 1947, this former pond water distribution to distribute water to the first fountains of the city, and particularly that of the great town square, Place Carnot current.
The water was collected in the Aude in a place called “L’Origine” and then brought into the basin by an aqueduct nearly 8 km in length.

The oldest buildings of the abbey (church nave and chapter house) dating from the late twelfth century. Despite the overlapping of styles, a real desire for unity and homogeneity through.
The architectural ensemble of the abbey, diverse and varied, has been beautifully preserved. During the visit you will discover include:

• The cloister, a focal point of the heart and life of the monks of the abbey, noted for its arches of intersecting ribs falling on capitals foliage. The East gallery is opens with the chapter house, a masterpiece of Romanesque art, combining the simplicity and majesty, power and lightness.
• The abbey church, punctuated by five bays and the nave up to 21 meters student’s barrel vault.
• The room lay-long and 50 meters with 5 bays covered with ribbed vaults spread. It can accommodate about 200 lay brothers, who at the time worked on the lands of the abbey between Beziers and Perpignan. The light enters through the windows and doors that were opened in the eighteenth century, the hall was originally much darker.
• The dormitory of the lay, a beautiful room with a huge sandstone arch barrel vault, with no beams. In its southern part this space contained an attic where the bags were hoisted by the side openings. The opposite side, on the other side of the stairs, past the dormitory was transformed into a hotel with large cell lit by large mullioned windows.

The castle was possession of the archbishops of Narbonne from 1110 to 1789. Fully restored, it is a remarkable example of medieval military architecture. The village is closely linked to the history of Catharism.
After being betrayed and captured, Guilhem Belibaste last known Cathar Parfait, was awarded as a result of his trial to his temporal lord the Archbishop of Narbonne, Bernard de Farges, who burned bright Villerouge in 1321.

At thirty kilometers southwest of the castle of Puilaurens, following “the citadels of vertigo”, it is perched on a spur 920 meters above the river Aude and noisy.
Mentioned for the first time in the early eleventh century, the castle is Usson of the Lords of So and Alion.
Today, consolidated and saved from ruin, this remarkable home within its walls the Heritage House.
