Classified historical monument since 1907, the castle of Puivert (Puègverd in Occitan), located on the town in the eponymous department of Aude is set on a hill overlooking the village and its lake.

A 40 km south of Carcassonne, in the eponymous town, proudly stands the Castle of Arques.
Its construction dates from the thirteenth century. It consists of a chamber and an imposing square tower flanked by four turrets.

The castles of Lastours (in Occitan Las Tors, lit. “Towers”), four in number, constituted the eleventh century until the Revolution, the lock Cabardès.
Located 15km north of Carcassonne, and built on the same bedrock at 300 m above sea level, overlooking the charming village of Lastours, the four towers: Cabaret, Tour Régine, Surdespine Quertinheux and are classified as historical monuments since 1905. Archaeological excavations are still taking place.

Overlooking the Olmes perched on the “Pog” to 1207 meters in the heart of the Ariege, the castle of Montsegur, built in 1206, is a castle called Cathars. He was implanted at the site leveled the old fortified village which was, until the siege of 1244, place of Cathar resistance and faydits (knights and lords Languedoc dispossessed of their land).

The castle of Termes, located 40 km south east of Carcassonne dominates the High Corbières from its limestone promontory. Surrounded by steep slopes on three sides, the castle is accessible only by its southern face. It consists of two concentric walls, and included a dungeon that are perceived as more sections of wall collapsed.

East of Tuchan, perched on a limestone promontory at 300m above sea level, the castle of Aguilar, whose name comes from the Latin “aquila” meaning eagle, overlooking a landscape of scrub and vine.
It consists of two chambers separated by the lists.
